If I Were a Skier
(Sung to the tune of "If I Were a Rich Man")
If I were a skier… I would go to Snowshoe, or Canaan or to Timberline…
I would cherish all of those great slopes
Sliding down I’d never mind…
thump!
If I were a skier… I would take a deep breath of the pretty scenes all around
I would keep my eyes upon snow hills
Hoping that I won’t fall down…
ugh!
I’d ski with perfect glides of a pro or one at the Olympic trials…
I would ski with great skills and go for miles…
And afterwards I’d sip a mug of hot chocolate before a blazing fire…
What is this, you ask, is all this ire?
Sigh…
Alas I’m not a skier… but I still love Snowshoe and Canaan and Timberline
I will never break my leg or have a fracture of hair line…
ah!
I will just drive there from here… and enjoy the wondrous views God gave to me
And I’ll forget I every wished
That, I promise without a hitch
I never for a moment will I wish
That God gave me a gift… of… ski!!!!
